What Should Bieber’s Public Relations Team Do?

POSTED February 18th, 2011

I would like to start a discussion regarding the recent incidents that followed the Grammy’s this past Sunday night.

When relatively unknown jazz artist Esperanza Spalding won the best new artist award over fan-favorite Justin Bieber, his loyal fans went on the attack. Many went onto Spalding’s Wikipedia page and changed a lot of the information and even threatened her life.

Following the fan frenzy, as far as I could find, Bieber’s camp never made a statement addressing the incident or scolded the fans for their harsh and immature behavior. It seems they are staying out of it.

My questions is, in circumstances such as this one, do you think the Justin Bieber's public relations team should address the situation and perhaps even apologize for the fans' actions or should they simply let the event take its course and be done with it?

Thoughts?
